I need to create refresher trainings for 8 different groups and courses need to renewed annually, biannually and Triannually.
Need to understand the process with Certification and Retraining App. If the users are renewing the courses, will the old data get lost or archived.
With certifications and retraining, the user only gets the certification if they select “renew now” in the certifications and retraining section of their “My Activities” menu. If they simply enroll and complete the course after initially receiving the certification or they are enrolled by a power user, the re-certification does not trigger. We had to navigate this by creating some custom automations to make sure all users were receiving the correct certification. This is especially important for courses with eCommerce attached.
When a user goes to renew their certification, their previous enrollment is archived, and they are re-enrolled. In addition, their previous certificated is shown with an archived status in the certifications reporting. You can choose to include or exclude these depending on your reporting needs. In addition, choosing an enrollment report with active and archived enrollments will show you previous certification enrollments (although they are not connected by any sort of field beyond enrollment in the qualifying course). You will also be able to see archived enrollments in the Course Management page.
