I have a client who would like to build out a learning plan where they will give the user courses to complete, but then they would like to tell the user to choose any 2 of a possible 10 elearning courses to complete. Upon completing those 2, they would then progress to the next learning plan.

I know we can do this with ILTs where you can say you need to complete a set number of sessions or events. What’s the best way to achieve this with elearning (where no ILTs are required)

My current thought process is to add in an assignment telling the users to choose and complete 2 courses from a set catalogue of 10 courses, then reporting back on the assignment they are done for this to be manually marked as completed (or sent back if they have not been completed).

This is obviously a manual workaround and not really a solution.

I thought about equivalences however we do not want to mark courses as complete that they have not done as they may be used later.

Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Many thanks

Sure. Just set your options on the Learning Plan.

Then under Prerequisites, you can specify how many of them the learner needs to complete:

Hi @TaiSaxty - I’m not sure I completely understand, but let me give it a shot.

You have a learning plan that has some number of courses. In the description you can provide guidance so it shows up in the player, but I agree it would be better as part of a required assignment / course in the LP.

You can build an automatic group based on completion of certain courses. Automatic groups are capable of complex logic, such as course A and course B, OR course C and course D and so on.

Then that automatic group feeds an enrollment rule or rules that enroll the users that are in the group to the next LP.

Hope this helps.

Hi @dwilburn

The logic they have is they want a learning plan where they have
Course 1
Course 2
Course 3
all of which must be completed - this part is normal.

They then want to say here is 10 separate courses,
Additional 1
Additional 2
Additional 3
Additional 4
Additional 5
Additional 6
Additional 7
Additional 8
Additional 9
Additional 10
Pick any 2 and complete them.
Upon completion of any 2 of these additional courses, you will have then completed Learning plan 1 and can continue to Learning plan 2.

A strange request but I thought I’d see if anyone else has had a similar request and solution.
