Hello Everyone,

We will soon be implementing Docebo for Microsoft Teams.  We would like to, for the time being, disable the Chat tab so that learners do not see it.  We are having trouble getting any support around whether this is possible or not.  Our own IT says this would fall to Docebo, but we haven’t received an answer from them as of yet.  So I thought I’d ask here to see if anyone had successfully disable the Chat tab in Docebo for Teams.

Thank you very much in advance.

Mike

I am interested in this as well and I don’t believe the end-user will find this interesting and even confusing.

Anyway you can take a sceencap?

Here is where the Chat option shows on the Dashboard. It only allows you to chat with the Docebo bot, not a real chat with a person in Teams.

Agreed @JeanetteMcVeigh - we aren’t sure users would find it useful either.  One potential use of it we did find is the ability to share direct links to courses with colleagues, but you don’t do that in that Chat tab, you have to go to your personal Teams chat with the person, type in @, select Get Bots, then add the Docebo bot to your person chat.  Then in that chatbot you can click a “Courses” button to see a list of courses to send to the person your chatting with.

What’s also concerning to me is that any user, as far as my tests show, can type “Disconnect” in that Chat tab.  It won’t do anything if you don’t have the proper authority, and it does tell you that you need to disconnect in the platform and not in Teams, but is still surprising to me that anyone could type Disconnect. Also, the first I used it I thought “Disconnect” meant disconnect from the chat, not disconnect Docebo for Teams.  So that’s a little confusing/scare - I don’t like that user experience.

I find it completely useless for learners in it’s current state...maybe useful for admins.  I’m not loving it yet, but I am hopeful.

Agreed. We have been trying to resolve with Docebo with no success yet. Terrible user experience. If they type something in chat, it gives this message this is not supported. Not to mention the prompts we don’t want users to see.  We have delayed our launch hoping for a resolution soon.

We have been in communication with Docebo to get rid of or hide bot after pairing. Also talking to vendors to see if they have any ideas on how to hide.
