Include an Intro module in each course

To help our new users, we have created an LMS Introduction SCRM file. Is there a way to auto assign this module to every course created going forward?

My inclination is to create a template learning plan including the intro course and duplicate that each time we need a new course setup.

Hi Becky,

Our university has done something similar but instead of assigning the intro module to each course, we created a learning plan called “Welcome to Johnstone University” with three intro courses that are relevant to all new users on the platform.

Then, if you wanted every new learner to take that intro course/learning plan, you can use an auto-enrollment rule based on account creation date to automatically assign that content to the learners.  Here is an article on enrollment rules if you aren’t familiar - Activating and managing the Enrollment rules app.

Um - IMHO - if you are targeting adults? Consider these options:

- You probably want to push to them the training as a first time user.
- If you have real estate on the front page? Consider putting a link to the course on the front page.

Now on to your question. You could probably develop a workflow to support this - BUT you will want to consider - do you want to keep recopying a course as a template. (Which is a rather common practice).
Here is why - When a person completes the training material once? It will be set as completed.

If it is ok - that if a person completes the training material over here and it will mark the training material in other places as completed (because it is the same learning object)….luse the copy feature and select the option to copy your training material….

Thank you everyone, we ended up using an enrollment rule for any new users to automatically assign the “Introduction to LMS” training.  Worked like a charm.
