Learning Plan Enrollment Due Dates

Greetings! I am working on Learning Plans that have courses with prescribed soft deadlines and a validity period of 60 days.

When I assign the LP the learner receives the notification email, and all of the dates are the same...how should I set it up to make it cascade that once they finish the first course in the LP the next course’s clock begins and so on through the LP?

You can do this a few ways - but you may need to describe this a little more.

Depending on how you read your email? You may be looking for a trickle (drip) curriculum approach - I have written about this in a few places, but I am happy to get help you to think about it for a moment.

What do I mean by a trickle or a drip curriculum?

You lay out a series of courses to be taken across a span of X weeks.

Week 1 - everyone in a group needs to be enrolled to complete A.

Week 2 - everyone in the group* then needs to be enrolled to complete B.

Week 3 - everyone in the group* then needs to be enrolled to complete C.

The lock in place remains in place based on the week and potentially the need to complete the first step.

*You can also run into interesting IF/THEN logic if a drip enrollment is needed - for example - what should happen to week 2 unlocking if week 1 is not completed????

If you are using an integration to support your user management, then you can potentially pull off what you need to pull off. Off hand and at a high level? Trickle or drip curriculums this is NOT something you can currently do in the system without a deeper intervention from your HRIS group to help flatten a problem or two (something has to track the passing of time for the user from “when the timer starts”.

Beyond that though...I want to say doable - and you can even be fancy with your user experience and change how a landing page looks by passing them along to different groups as they continue down the path of completing courses.

IF YOU ARE NOT LOOKING TO DRIP. And you are looking for purely a person to take content in a sequence of completions? That is very doable today with all tools available in the system - with almost no need for intervention with an integration.
