Hi - Enabling Focus Mode turns it on by default for ALL existing courses (that was the experience when I turned it on in Sandbox). When it goes live we would like to use it for some courses at first. Will there be a way to turn the feature on, but NOT auto-enable it universally for all existing courses in our prod environment? Thanks you.

This is not the experience we had...Perhaps someone turned this ON at the platform level? Check the setting under Configuration branding and look > Course Player...you should see the option to turn it OFF there.

Hi - when we turned it on at the platform level, it automatically changes all of our existing courses to Focus Mode. We don’t want this applied as the default experience to our existing courses. If we turn it on when it’s launched in production, then we would have to go course by course to turn it off. It would be nice to add an option to turn it on for all existing courses (yes, or no) or only for future new courses. Thanks.

Yes that would be nice but sadly it doesn't work that way...You’re best leaving it OFF and advising your admins to turn it ON for new courses, etc. I prefer that since I want to test each course to make the user experience is what we want it to be, etc.

Hi - oh I see, so even if we don’t turn the feature on in the branding look and feel player section, course creators will still have the option available in courses to use it or not? I thought you had to turn the feature on first for it to be even be available. Thanks,

Correct.

All the options under Configure branding and look are global settings (same if you have extended enterprise - you can configure at that level as well) so if you need the flexibility of using it or not, you're best off not using the global defaults and setting it only at the course level.
