Your April Release Webinar questions, answered!

For those that tuned in to the April Release Readiness webinar, you knew these were coming! If you missed it, don’t worry, the recording is ready for you (and so is the release round up).

Questions and Answers

Q. When does the new skills dashboard go live?
A. The Skills dashboard is live in all Learn platforms. We did have a short delay in this release, but it was pushed out with the April Mid-Month release on April 14th.

Q. Can I configure notification to trigger a notification when a learner has submitted/completed an activity?

A. Yes! You’ll want to configure the Learner Submitted Assignment notification. You can also configure notifications to send when learners submit an observation checklist or complete a course. To learn more about notifications available in the platform, check out the Notification Events and Conditions knowledge article.

Q. Does Impersonate need View set separately or will it use the settings, including View, from the Users Category?

A. As a best practice, you should always add the View permission for Users to any power user profile that also includes the Impersonate the assigned users permission. Without the View permission assigned, your Power Users will not be able to view the User Management section of your platform.

Q. For tracking of the power user impersonation, can you just clarify that in the tracking, the Power User will show as doing the actions in the user's account?

A. Any actions performed by a Power User or Superadmin when logged in as another user will show as having been performed by the user that is being impersonated. In the Audit Trail, you’ll be able to see when the User Impersonation session started and ended, including which Power User or Superadmin initiated the session. Based on these breadcrumbs, you can tell which actions were performed by an end user directly, and which actions were performed by a Power User or Superadmin impersonating the user.

Q. Is there a way to quick trigger a notification for testing?

A. While there’s no direct way to test notifications directly from the Notification app in Docebo Learn, there are a few ways that you can test and review your notifications as you build them. Check out the following posts for more information on how to do so:

Q. Can Training Orchestra be used to see a full list of each ILT Session an Instructor has taught?

A. Yes. There are a few ways to do this through reporting:

  • In the trainer’s schedule, you can filter on sessions based on the instructor

  • In the list of sessions, if it also possible to filter based on the instructor of the session

  • We have an instructor portal (access for the instructor) where the instructor can view his list of sessions

Q. Can the audit trail be used to show that Power Users did not invalidate an e-sig?

A. For security reasons, Superadmins and Power Users cannot access e-signature courses into which the user they are impersonating is enrolled. You can learn more about how e-signature during user impersonation works in the E-Signature section of the Impersonating a User knowledge article. You can also learn more about Recording E-Signature Data in the Audit Trail via the Activating & Managing the E-Signature App knowledge article.

Q. Any plan for adding PUSH Notifications?
A. Oh the push notifications! I don’t have a straight answer for you, but I can say that the product team is hard at work updating our notification framework. This is a pretty big undertaking and it will only start making it into the platform in late 2022, early 2023.  That said, push notifications are on the list. You can hear it from the horse's mouth (also known as @damiano.colombo, our mobile product manager) in his response to the Notification push smartphone idea. You can also see that @dklinger is a pretty big fan of this one too!

That’s all the questions and answers. Thanks to everyone who attended this session and asked a question.
