We received many questions during the live event that we answered live, however, below are the ones that pertain to this release that we weren’t able to answer live:
Q. Is there a way to allow them to only use certain profiles for power users, not all of our options? I would not want them to be able to assign all power user profiles - just a subset
- Yes, the admin must assign the profiles as resources to PUs. The PU can only assign profiles they have as a resource to their child PUs.
Q. Can a power users give someone a power user profile that has more permissions than they have?
- Yes, if the Superadmin assigned such a Profile as a resource to the Power User. The admin must assign profiles to power users as resources. Those profiles are the profiles that the PU can assign to the PUs they manage. If one of the assigned profiles contains higher permissions than the said PU will be able to assign this profile with higher permissions to the PUs they manage. The admin is in control here, because they are the one who decided to grant a profile with higher permissions to a power user.
Q. Can we constrain the 2nd level Power Users from creating other Power Users?
- Sure, it’s enough not to assign the 1st level PU a “PU creator” profile as a resource, so they won’t be able to assign that permission in turn
Q. Does this also now allow power users to impersonate the power users they are assigned to?
- No, Power Users can never impersonate other power users. They can only impersonate normal users, if they have the dedicated permission.
Q. Is it possible to report on users' skills instead of course skills?
- Currently, only reporting on skills associated with courses are available. User skill reporting is in our pipeline of features under consideration but there is no exact release date at this time.
Q. Our Docebo LMS is still showing skills that are not relevant to our industry. We have had to turn off skills self registration, will these additional skills show up when we assign skills to courses and how, if our users cannot register their skills will we be able to accurately track user skills?
- Ensure that the skillset configuration is tailored to the specific needs of learners at both levels. Grant access only to skillsets that are relevant to each level, limiting skill recommendations to those specific skills. Additionally, the "All Skills" skillsets must be unpublished and the advanced rights giving access to all skills disabled. If you are still experiencing unexpected behavior, please reach out to support or your CSM for additional assistance.
Q. Can I Allow power users to look into new course and learning player?
- The new course player can be turned on or turned off but not in a role specific way. If you are looking to have a specific user or group preview the player it is best to use the sandbox to conduct these kinds of testing operations.
Q. Will new course player go live at the beginning or end of June?
- At this time, the specific date in June is not planned. We are still translating feedback into requirements and making adjustments to this feature and because of this, identifying a specific day in June is difficult as we work through the implementation. That said, we will make sure that in the webinars leading up to June we will continue to update and provide more specific information as it becomes available.
Q. Looking at PU settings and can see that in our sandbox there is an option called, Allow Power Users to see the real number of enrolled users and their attendance in the course properties yet this is NOT in prod…any idea why? This is one we wanted to use for user
- In our December sandbox update, we mentioned a feature called “Consistent Enrollment Counters” - What you are seeing in your sandbox is the setting for that feature and it will be available in production on the February release date.
