am currently building our LMS safety training platform and working on familiarizing myself with Docebo, as my experience with the platform is limited.

Our annual safety trainings involve the same training materials and topics each year, with the same group of employees required to attend. Initially, I structured the platform in Course Management by setting up the training topic as the course title, and within the course, I created multiple sessions to represent the same training topic delivered to different groups of employees.

However, I’ve realized that I need to maintain annual training records, which could become challenging with this setup. It was suggested to me that I could organize the sessions as “2024 XYZ Training,” “2025 XYZ Training,” and so on. This approach seems practical for tracking compliance and identifying who attended the required sessions each year.

The challenge I am facing now is with user enrollment. Currently, I can only enroll users into sessions, not individual training events. For instance, I enrolled users into the 2024 XYZ Training, but they are only required to attend one session within that training.

Is there a way to modify the setup to allow enrollment at the event level rather than at the session level? Any guidance on how to structure this effectively while ensuring compliance tracking would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You could structure the courses to have a single session for each year of training ("2024 XYZ Training," "2025 XYZ Training", etc.), and within those sessions, create multiple events representing individual training sessions.
You could then enroll users into these sessions...tracking attendance will be done at the event level once they are enrolled in the specific annual session.
But I do not think there is any way though for you to directly allow enrollment at the event level...it must happen through enrollment into the overall session first

Have you looked into Enrolment Archiving? If the course has no tests or surveys you need to have access to, this could work...If you need to preserve the data, you can still use archiving but I would recommend you pull detailed reports before archiving since at this time, archived records cannot be reported on at the learning object level.
