Hello

I have a deactivated user and a new employee with the same name and therefore username (org email address).  The HR system has not automatically created this user in the LMS so I am thinking a manual creation is required but the user has the same email address as the deactivated user.

 

Advice please?

We had this same issue with an email address being re-issued to a new user and we had an older deactivated user with that email.  My fix was this - I added a prefix/suffix to the username of the deactivated user (something like john.smith_INACTIVE@example.com).  That allowed us to still be able to identify the old user and be able to use the email address again.  If you have something like an employee number, you use append that to old username as well.
