Hi everyone!

I am looking for some advice regarding recertification.  Currently we have two different courses running alongside each other that have a 3 year cycle of renewal.  One is an older course and one is the newer version.  Let’s say it’s Course 2021 and Course 2023.  We still have people on Course 2021 because it’s not yet due for renewal, and all new people do Course 2023 since we moved over to a new supplier at the beginning of ‘23.  This has been okay for a bit, but it's starting to confuse managers and reporting because those on 2021 have been enrolled on 2023 ready for when they need to renew.

These old courses are locked so when renewal happens they need to do 2023 and only have access to this.  However, I recently learned that you can archive and unenroll people off courses so I was going to do this for 2021, but when I action this it doesn’t like it because we have them on a learning plan.

I guess my ideal outcome was to keep the person’s previous completions and move them to the new one and remove the old one from the reporting. Do you think there is a way we can do this?  I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Paul

yes that’s a limitation of archiving...a course cannot be in an LP and you cannot archive LP enrolments either. Did you try using the RENEW button? Did you tie the LP to the certification or just the course? If the course also lives outside the LP and folks were enrolled directly into the course, maybe archiving will work for those users? The trick is to find them. May be worth a try?

Hi Irnlab

Good shout, I’ll have a go at that as the courses do, yes.  Thanks for the advice.

Keep safe
