We use Power Users on a limited basis. One Department’s Power Users cannot see New Hires in their User Assigned group. They have access to All Users, and 2 Groups based on Job Titles and and Department.

Why cannot the Power Users see any new additions to these groups?

Power user permissions can be a bit of a minefield. I would suggest going through the following list to make sure you have all the necessary permissions enabled.

Especially note the following:

  • Resource assignments to Power Users are not effective until the Power User logs in for the first time after the assignment is made. This is valid both for direct resource assignments (e.g., assigning a group to a Power User) and indirect assignments (e.g., a user being added to a group to which the Power User is already assigned).
  • If you assign groups, branches, learning plans and catalogs to a Power User, and then update these resources (by adding or removing items), we strongly suggest the Power User logs off and logs in to the platform after the changes are confirmed to grant the assignment of the new resources.

 


@Daniel @alekwo Thanks for the great advice. I have this article printed out, but forgot about reminding the Power Users to log off and on, almost as bad as “Did you reboot?” :-)
