Share Badges on LinkedIn

It is time to let your learners shine and in return, they will shine the spotlight on your fabulous learning programs.

Picture it! One of your learners earned a badge for the course “Monaco Grand Prix” and they share it on LinkedIn. (Ok, maybe not the best example of a course, but I am a little F1 obsessed lately.) Kudos to them for a job well done! They are taking ownership of their development and they are elevating their profile.

But wait, there’s more! Kudos to you for building a culture of learning. Whether it’s an employee onboarding course, an enablement course for your partners, or a product expert course for your customers, you are showcasing that learning matters in your organization. You are marketing! That is the magic of social media. You have just shown potential employees, partners and customers you support their development.

Setting up badge sharing is a simple checkbox at the badge level when you create or edit a badge.

Once enabled, your users are able to share directly to LinkedIn or can copy the link to other social networks.

📚  Want to learn more? Here’s a list of resources available to you for the August 2021 Release:

💡  3 ways these updates could help you:

1️⃣  Showcase your learning culture

I know I don’t have to tell you that development opportunities and employee retention go hand in hand. It is also a talent acquisition strategy. When your talented employees are showing your learning programs to their connections, people are taking notice. We all cheer and comment on posts that showcase growth on LinkedIn, it just makes us happy. Your next recruit may just be one of those likes.

2️⃣  Program marketing

For those of you who may be offering external training, whether it is customer training on your products and services or if you are a provider offering training as your service, enabling your learners to share your badges on LinkedIn offers credibility and visibility to your programs.  Showcase your offering and increase your audience!

3️⃣  Learning on the go

Have you ever wanted to be a secret shopper? Ok, I am probably sharing too much. I’ve secretly always wanted to do it. Getting paid to go shopping...does it get any better?  When I first heard that observation checklists were going mobile, I won’t lie, I thought...hmm, maybe it can still happen?! Learning is about changing behaviours and that is not measured by a true/false question at the end of a course but through observation over time. Observation checklists on mobile gives you the opportunity to measure change when and where it happens.

🎤  Got an idea?  We are gonna listen!

As many of you know, we have an ideas portal where customers, like you, share their suggestions and enhancements directly with our product team. As promised last month we are going to share some of the ideas we close in every release.

In August, between our weekly maintenance releases and this month’s product update, we delivered on 3 ideas for a total of 67 votes and here they are.

We have some exciting changes coming your way when it comes to your ideas. I am not really allowed to tell you too much, we want to share all the good news at once. But, we did answer your questions from the August Release Webinar and we may have snuck a little teaser in this  August Release Q&A post.

📢  We want to hear from you!

Do you have any ideas or plans to use these updates? Did we get your competitive juices flowing? Share with us in the comments below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

🤓  Give me the details

For those of you interested in the nitty gritty, here’s all that’s changing in this month’s release:

New options for sharing the platform badges on social networks

Show content

For those using the Gamification App, starting from this monthly release, it will be possible for users to directly share the badges they obtained in the platform on social networks such as LinkedIn or by copying their links via email or chat messaging.

Anonymize data for deleted users

Show content

Starting from this weekly release, a new option is available in the platform’s advanced settings to enable data anonymization for deleted users. The option name is Anonymize Deleted Users, and it is enabled by default on the platforms activated starting from September 2, 2021.

Addition to Manager Request Not Accepted Notification

Show content

For those using the Notifications app, starting from this weekly release the ability to choose Users as recipients (in addition to Superadmins and Power Users) has been added to the Manager Request Not Accepted notification which triggers when a user does not accept a manager request to confirm their association.

Go.Learn Version 3.8.0 and Branded Mobile App Version 3.8.0 are here!

Show content

In this update, the following new features have been added to the mobile app:

  • Observation checklists are available also for mobile. Your users can now manage and fill out observation checklists directly from their mobile app, from the My Checklists page or as a course training material.
Checklists enable your users to check their own learning progress or the progress of other users in the platform and to monitor compliance requirements while doing a specific task.

  • HTTPS internal web server has been implemented both for the Android and the iOS versions of the app. Also, the mobile app is now compatible with the iOS networking security feature called App Transport Security (ATS). Part of the internal architecture of the app has been adjusted to support HTTPS and be compliant with the ATS standard. If you want your app to be compatible with HTTPS and ATS, you only need to update Go.Learn or your branded app to version 3.8.0, no other action is required from your side.

Furthermore, a handful of minor issues have been addressed to give you a better, smoother learning experience.
