Duplicate global search on a custom page?

We’ve found our users often miss the global search at the top of the screen. We would like to duplicate it within a custom page, and our homepage. Could this be done with an HTML widget, CSS, or both together?

Hey! I tried hiding the search and embedding it into a custom page via iframe, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get it to work. It seems that this might not be achievable unless a web app integrated with Docebo is developed.

I do have a UX consideration: placing the search bar within the page could give users the impression that the results are specifically tied to that page or section.

That said, there are definitely ways to enhance its visibility with CSS by adjusting colors, fonts, and size to make it stand out more.

Hi Francesca - thanks so much for the info! It’s actually our home page where we wanted to relocate the global search.

In short, our design would lend itself well to having it right in the middle of the page. In the end, we just created a graphic similar to “START YOUR LEARNING JOURNEY HERE: Click a topic below or Search above. It’s hard to miss now haha.

@nolanburris Before search was enhanced to limit returned results, we created a catalog search page and linked to it from a custom content widget with a similar call to action. Based on your needs, I think that would provide a good option. Keep in mind, catalog searches only return course shells, and none of the training materials.

Thanks so much Pat. That might be an option for us. I’ll chat with the boss and find out. I appreciate the suggestion.
