Links in scheduled report emails not working

Hello,

I’m wondering if someone can help please. We have reports scheduled to be sent to certain users and some have reported that they can’t download the reports using the links in the emails but they are receiving the emails fine. When they click onto the link it takes them to the login page of the system and won’t download the report.

They have been downloading the reports for years prior to this and no setting have been changed.

The only thing I can think of that’s changed in the system is we switched on the SSL certificate to be managed by the platform as our custom certificate was due to expire and the updated one would not work. Would this have an impact?

I’ve tested it using my account but as I’m a super admin it works fine.

Thank you

Hi Ella.  When they enter their login details, is it automatically logging them back out?  If so, we’re having the same problem, but it seems to be just those at ‘user’ level.

Hi Ashlie, we use single sign on but yes that’s what’s happening it just logs them back out. Does it work for your power users? I've not tested that yet.

The person who first reported it to us is a user.  He used single sign on and tried with username and password and got the same result (straight back to login screen).  I changed him to power user and added a PU profile that allowed viewing of reports and then changed visibility settings in the report itself to allow him access and that seems to work.  I’m a superadmin and I can access reports through the links fine too so it just seems to affect users from what I can see.  Can’t see any updates suggesting this has changed though so wonder if it’s a bug.  Would be an absolute pain to have to change profiles for all those needing to download reports.  We have loads too.

Thank you, I'll try that and see if it works. Does the power user need to be assigned the resources linked to the report? for example if the report is to include every account on the system does the power user need to be assigned all accounts?

I’ve not added any resources, just a profile that allows viewing of reports, and it’s exporting with the learner info so I don’t think it’s necessary.  I’ve asked my colleague who deals with our provider to report it as an issue.

I have been seeing this issue from 10/15. I have been seeing the same issue with multiple users where they can’t download the reports using the links in the emails but they are receiving the emails fine. But, when they are trying to access it, it is giving 500 error. As some of you mentioned, it is not giving error for Super Admins and Power Users. I opened ticket with Docebo Support, and they have been looking into it but not resolved yet. Hopefully, this resolves soon.

I’ve changed the users level to power user of who it affected and it seems to be working like you have both said. Hopefully Decebo fix this soon!

Thank you :)

We are experiencing the same issue with reports that have worked for many months. I was also able to deselect the Login required to download the report checkbox on the Properties tab and the User was able to access the report.

Thanks for posting this!

We had the same issue and Docebo support knows this is an issue because they made that change to only allow Admins ad Power users to use the links. As previously stated, if you want them to be able to open that with the sent link you have to make them a power user. We created a Power User profile just for reports and are adding people to it as they come to us with the issue. Luckily, we don't have a lot of users that this is affecting, however I don't know what else to suggest for those of you who do have a lot of people.

We are having the same issue.   Thank you for pointing out that it is only happening to users, not power users.  That explains why it has been inconsistent.  It is also helpful to hear that if we remove the requirement to log in, people can access the report. I have a ticket open with Docebo and they said they are working on fixing it, so it does seem to be an unintentional bug.

This is a known issue. We have a ticket in for this. Something has changed unexpectedly that is causing this issue. No ETA for fix yet.
