๐ถย Oh, the weather outside is frightful (I am in Canada)
But the fire is so delightful (Donโt worry, it is a soy candle, I donโt want to upset anyone)
Since we've no place to go (I work remote)
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snowโฆ (until Jan 1 only please, then no more) ๐ถ
ย
Itโs officially the holiday season. There are partiesย
ย (maybe a little smaller, maybe on Zoom), thereโs shoppingย
ย (let's do what we can for the economy), and thereโs lots of food
. I love this time of year! Itโs a time to see family and friends, do a little reflecting and it can be anย opportunity to reset. As another year comes to an end, I find myself thinking, โNext year, Iโll make sure I take the time toโฆโ [insert any number of things from eat healthier, exercise, read etc.].
ย
Well, today, I decided not to wait. Whatโs so great about January 1st? Iโll spare you the (long) list of items Iโm going to do this New Year, but thought Iโd share a really important one that Iโm taking action on now; focus more on growth and development, thatโs rightโฆ learning! Convenient since I work at Docebo
. But regardless of where you work and what you thought when you walked out of your last educational institution for the final time, learning is ongoing. Frankly,ย it makes the difference between knowing,ย growing and/or finding yourselfโฆwell irrelevant. Ouch, harsh! But you understand, youโre my people.
ย
In a previous life, I often heard, โI just donโt have time to take the training or work on my own development.โ And I would often answer, โIt mattersโmake the time.โ Yet, here I am not making the time.ย ย ย
ย
So, will you join me in making the time? In fact, I challenge you to make the time! Whoโs with me?!ย ![]()
ย
I know, itโs the end of year and weโre all busy, but I also know we can do it.ย ย
Hereโs the challenge (if you choose to accept it):ย
ย
1๏ธโฃย ย Opt in, you deserve it!
Resolve to:
-
Read a book
-
Catch up on your favorite blog
-
Listen to a Podcastย
-
Take an online course
-
Finally get through that fancy magazine on your desk that you know makes you look really smart (Thank you HBR)
ย
2๏ธโฃย ย Share with us!ย ย ย
We can keep you accountable. Plus, Iโm a sucker for recommendations and I am fairly confident you have a few good ones up your sleeves. We can all grow together!ย
ย
3๏ธโฃย Share with others!
Give the gift of learning to someone else. Pass on what you learned, lend the book, share the Podcast and remind them they, too, need to take the time.ย ย
Get in on the action!ย โฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธย Do it for yourself. Iโll even start by challenging a few other Docebians to join in (
