Learning Plans & Certifications

Hello,I’m hoping someone can help with an issue I’ve come across.A user brought to my attention yesterday that the Retake Certification button on the course page was unavailable, meaning the system was not updating their completion date or certification status. I logged in as the user to investigate and was able to confirm that they were correct.I have since carried out some spot checks on other users with the same certification and have identified two additional people experiencing the same issue. What’s confusing is that the problem appears to be affecting some users but not others, despite them being assigned the same certification. I’ve compared the certification profiles and settings, and they appear to be configured exactly the same.Would anyone be able to advise what might be causing this or if they have came across this themselves?

Hello Community,I’ve come across an issue that several staff members appear to be experiencing when attempting to renew their certifications. For some reason, the option or link to renew an expired certification is not appearing for them. We’re seeing this across multiple users, which makes me think there may be a broader issue at play.Has anyone encountered this before or know what might be causing it?Please see the screenshot below for reference.Thank you in advance for any insights or suggestions.

Has the new certifications area been released or is it still under testing?

Hello Guru’s!!I have a scenario that didn’t play out as intended when testing, so curious what ideas the group may have here. Structure - Learning Plan that has 3 courses (A,B,C) as well as a certification component (D) with a yearly requirement. When enrolled, user completes A,B,C and then the certification (D).  This completes the LP. Fast forward a year, and assume for testing purposes the certification goes overdue/expires.  The ask/need is that the LP status revert to ‘in progress’ to indicate they are no longer in compliance since all 4 components are not complete. Additionally, at any given time courses A,B,C could be refreshed with up to date criteria, and enrollments would be archived and renenrolled for the respective course. This resets the course status to ‘Not Started’ which would also revert the LP back to ‘In Progress’ until completed which it would then reflect complete again. Testing confirms that regardless of the status change at course level, a LP that has been compl

Hello,In the last couple of weeks we have been experiencing some issues with our certificates. When people download them they appear completely black like the below example. The more historic certificates seem ok. I’ve also tried to unassign and re-assign certificates and it has not made a difference. Here is a segment so you can see the whole page is blacked out. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated! Thank you.

I would like to make some of new fields I have added to the external training page mandatory. Is this something I can do?

I can add additional fields to the entry from for External Training. The system records the values, and I can report on them as an admin. How do I expose them to users? When a user views their external training, they see only the system fields and not the additional fields. There is no way for them to download the transcript or otherwise get to the additional files. I have discovered if I leave them in a pending state the user can edit/view them. This is not a good option on two levels; 1) it sends the message that the training is not accepted/valid. 2) users can edit them impacting downstream reporting. Anyone faced this problem?

Is it possible to create four separate learning plans on one page, with the first plan available immediately and the remaining three locked until each prerequisite plan is completed? Each learning plan includes 3–8 courses. Is there a trigger or automated notification within the learning plan settings that would allow this type of sequential unlocking?  Thank you in advance!

I have learners that have completed all mandatory courses in a learning plan. The learning plan has a certificate assigned but for some reason the certificates are not showing as issued. Am I missing something?

At our company, external compliance training is a big part of what we do.  In fact, it’s so important to us, that we’re currently using a second LMS called “SetSafety” to manage our health and safety training needs, which is an administrative burden and confusing for employees to be having to use two systems.  This is why we’re asking for help!  We really want to have a single vendor solution with Docebo, but we haven’t been able to come up with a viable Docebo-only solution to date. What do you do for assigning and tracking external compliance training?  Is there a possible set up or solution we’re not seeing?  Our Compliance Training Use Case We need to be able to:Assign external training by Group or by User (external training examples: 3rd party classroom-based training such as Energy Safety Canada’s hands-on Fall Protection course or a WorkSafe BC First Aid Certificate) - we have approx. 60 of these courses that are mandatory or task/hazard-dependent for our employee’s role or proj

I want to be able to assign/link Certificates of Completion/Certificate Templates to courses in bulk.  My assumption is that this will need to be done via API like the majority of batch/bulk functions, but Icannot find any API endpoints for this.  Am I missing them somewhere?  Is this still a 100% manual task to assign to courses and LearningPlans?

I want to create a certification “program” that provides a clear learning path for a group of learners to follow, but also allows for some choices in completing the required elements that leads to a specific “certification.”For instance, I want to be able to do the following where A-K are a mix of Learning Plans, E-Learning Courses and Instructor led courses.A+B+((D or E) or (F or G))or(H+I+J)+K = CertificationThis would allow a more consistent global structure, while still allowing for some regional differences in our business.is there a way to do what I described?

We perform sales onboarding every two weeks, and our onboarding track or curriculum is four weeks long.  I’m looking into creating a LP for each week, separately.  My question is, do I have to manually create 4 new LPs (one for each week of onboarding) every two weeks?  Is there not a way to duplicate an LP?  It seems like a lot of work to have to manually create an onboarding curriculum that regularly occurs throughout the year.  How do other organizations handle recurring onboarding curriculums with ILT (VILT) courses, eLearning mods, videos, documents etc.?Thanks for any insight.

Hi! We want to require that our employees take 4 credit hours from any course in JJU, we would then like them to be issued a certificate so that if can be renewed every 365 days. We need to roll this out in batches based on review dates. So those who just had their review in June will have until next June to complete it. We cannot figure out how to accomplish this. Any ideas?

Hi,I am using External Training App in Docebo, could you tell me which view is for the activity in Docebo Learn Data Data Dictionary? Thanks,Liza

I’m creating learning plans for all of our users to complete this year’s annual compliance training, but I’m wondering about the best way to manage it again next year. Do most of you unenroll everyone and then re-enroll them each year, or is there a better recurring setup?

Hi Docebo community! We have a stakeholder who would like for learners to join a follow-up session in an ILT. They would like this session information to appear on the course completion certificate.I understand that I can add the session information to the certificate with the tag codes. However, it appears our admins will need to manually re-issue certificates to include this updated information after a session is complete. Can anyone suggest a way to tie the (re)issuing of certificates to session completion? Or some other way of automating this process?Best,Jon

We are new to Docebo this year and have yet to use or configure Certifications. There are now a couple use cases, and we would like to set them up appropriately from the start. That being said, we do not want to “junk up” the system creating several unique certifications. We’re instead thinking of ways we can consolidate the number we create. Are there pros and cons to being more specific versus more general? We want to avoid any downstream impacts of having to rework our approach.  Potential Options include:General - Certification - 6 Months, Certification - 1 year, Certification - 2 years Slightly more specific - Safety Certification - 6 months, Compliance Certification - 6 months, Sales Certification - 6 months (and then repeat those for several expiration limits) Certifications for each specific, unique use case. (Which we do not prefer to do)Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks,Jaclyn

Hi there Docebo Community. I wanted to ask if anyone knows the best way to change a name on an issued certificate? The background to the question is, we had a user that didn’t realise their name was incorrect on the platform until they completed a course and viewed their certificate. We changed their name on the platform, changed their course status to in progress, then changed it back to complete but the certificate name didn’t change. Is there a simple fix for this? Many thanksJoe

with the future SSL certificate lifespan getting reduced to 47 days, how are you going to deal with these changes?  are you going to take over the SSL cert management?  or give us a way to automate these renewals? The depreciation schedule is now as follows:March 15, 2026: Newly issued certificates, including their Domain Control Validation, aka DCV, will have to be renewed every 200 days. March 15, 2027: That lifespan will go down to 100 days. March 15, 2029: New SSL/TLS certificates will be limited to 47 days, and 10 days for DCVs.

Hello Peeps, I have been asked to add a course certification to an existing course which a number of users have already completed. Will the date of certification renewal (set for 365 days) align to the date the user’s course completion date automatically?ORWill all users who have previously completed the course have the date of certification renewal set to the date the certification was added?

When we go to the certificates section and click on the “Issued Certificates” icon, a pop-up appears. In the course dropdown menu, you can only scroll through the list; you cannot apply filters or enter a course title. Since there are many courses, it takes a long time to find the course associated with the certificate we need to delete and/or reassign. Does anyone know if there’s a way to speed up the course search process?

Fellow Docebo Superadmins, How do you handle compliance courses that require completion with a certain cadence within Docebo? What about recurring ILT courses? For compliance courses, we would rather directly enroll the learners into the renewal course, but the certifications feature only allows learner self-enrollment; there isn’t a dynamic enrollment feature. Right now, we are not using certifications because of this. We are creating a new course for each year and are manually re-enrolling employees each month...Ouch. We also need to make sure we keep the full completion history (we cannot erase previous completions). Thoughts?

Hello! We are deploying a company wide re-certification on April 1st. Is the best way to deploy this by archiving and re-enrolling Team Members into the certification? I need to make sure that the users certification records aren’t lost (pulled to see archived records), and want to make sure we can notify users, have it show as “not completed”, and re-award the certification once done. Thanks in advance for the help!

Could someone confirm if the behaviour of my Learning Plan is to be expected, or have I done something wrong please?SetupI created a Learning Plan containing 5 ILT courses (all published, in catalogue, etc..) The 5 ILT courses have 3 or 4 Sessions each with a mix of online or venue events on different dates, scheduled through a whole year essentiallyUnexpected Behaviourwhen a learner looks at the learning plan to check out the course, not enrolled yet, only the first course and it’s sessions and events are able to be viewed opening any other course does not show the sessions and events available this means a learner cannot tell if the course is going to be viable for them as they cannot see all the events.  In reading help pages and the AI summary result from some searches it suggested that people use a work around listing all the dates in the learning plan ….. I’m at a loss to work out how to fix this as I would expect the ability to view all the sessions across all the courses in a l
