Group auto enrollment based on Learning Plan completion

We are working out a new program where I am using learning plans to issue certifications. I was hoping to also use the completion of the learning plan or status of the certification to auto enroll learners into a group.

The plan is to then use the group membership to provide catalog and page access.

Looking at group creations rules I do not see a way to use either a learning plan completion or an active certificate as a way to affect group enrollment.

Has anyone run across this in their past and have a suggestion or solution?

I am trying to avoid just using the classes from the learning plan because those may be available outside the learning plan and unlike a certificate, status doesn’t expire.

Since you can base it off of course completion.  Maybe make the last course a unique survey for that learning plan and base the group off of completing that course.  Just a thought.  Interested to see what others say.

This way you can collect some data/feedback on the learning plan.  :)

We do it this way, but it is not always a survey, just a unique course to that LP, can be a congrats /here’s what’s coming next type of thing sometimes.

We are currently facing a similar problem. We have a workaround where we are using the last completed course combined with an additional user field with the journey/certification, but it would be more elegant to have groups based on learning plan status. 😊

We have similar scenario, and we are only able to do it by adding all the courses from the learning plan to the group condition. We have 150 of these LP's with more than 15 courses each, so you can imagine how much extra work it is. Only luck is that since last year we can copy groups, so similar group can then be easily build. So I don't see any other way than the options mentioned above or just like we do just put in all courses as group requirement.

PS. I know Docebo plans to upgrad the whole certification section of the system, as it is very very very limited today. So who knows they may at it as condition in groups as well.

In the meantime you can still vote on the idea:

@Sébastien Arbour  I’d love to hear more about using an additional field in a course. Never thought about that.

thanks @Bfarkas  I still just want the learning plan itself to be the thing that triggers group enrollment but this will also work.

Totally understood and don’t disagree @Davefox , I just always move to “what can I do with what I got now”
