Issue with importing calendars for users

Dear Docebo community,

I am reaching out as I'm facing an issue related to importing calendars for my users where the completed courses still appear in their Docebo calendar once I update time options by changing a soft deadline date.

In fact, when I update the elearning date, the soft deadline for completed materials still gets imported into their calendars. This confuses my users since they have already completed the materials.

Is there any way to exclude this from appearing in their calendars once they have completed any specific elearning page?

It would greatly help to avoid any misunderstandings.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Lasha

@Lasha3  I get it. It also doesn’t help that depending on where the learner goes to export or synch a calendar they get different options. SO in your case if they grabbed a class or session calendar instead of their main calendar they would see different events and items.

From a course you only get course objects with a date

from the main calendar you get everything you are active in.

In your case courd telling people to subscribe to a course instead of main might help with your issue?

not sure I understand your ask...are you importing calendars from Docebo to Outlook and that is what’s causing the issues?

In my experience calerndar export from Docebo to Outlook is a hot mess. I have been working with Support and our account rep for a year with no resolution. Everything calendar related seems to be either optimized for Google or focused toward their additional outlook/teams integration module. Frustrating and confusing are understatements.

Can you talk more about what you are looking to do? I may have more constructive suggestions.

@lrnlab

Thank you for your reply. Yes, indeed; imagine a user X imported her calendar to Outlook for the upcoming events; however, the calendar also reflects those deadlines where she was enrolled in the past and has COMPLETED it successfully – and it happens just because I have updated the deadline in those former courses for X. I do not want X to be bothered with it, and have it hang as a placeholder in her outlook calendar.

I hope it makes more sense now.

Thank you, @Davefox . I fully agree that not having betten  integration with Docebo–Outlook causes many unpleasant issues.

So I am looking for a solution to this:  Imagine a user X imported her calendar to Outlook for the upcoming events-pre-works, etc...; however, the calendar also reflects those deadlines where she was enrolled in the past and has COMPLETED successfully – and it happens just because I have updated the deadline in those former courses of X for different users. Thus, I do not want X to be bothered and have it hang as a placeholder in her Outlook calendar.

OK I get it...agree the calendar export is not very dynamic at all..it does not update automatically unless you re-import and now that you mention it bringing in past dates, it doesn't surprise me...definitely needs a better way ti integrate Docebo events into user’s private calendars.

Thank you, @Davefox . I think that is the only solution – sharing with learners to subscribe to sessions through a course instead of the main calendar; but I will still try to tackle this topic with the support team first, just to make sure that there is no other solution except this one. Appreciate your input on this one thought!
