New Notifications Platform Log Confussion

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here might have some insight.

I recently switched over to the new Notifications platform and was really pleased to see it working initially. However, when I checked the logs today, I was shocked to find that over 500 emails were apparently sent out to my customers in a single day. Many of these users made purchases quite some time ago and are already active in the LMS.

I’ve already raised a ticket with Docebo to find out whether these emails were actually resent to users, or if the logs are just re-listing past sends for some reason.

I’m really worried that my customers may have received duplicate or old emails, which could be quite confusing for them.

Has anyone else run into this? Did you find it was just a false alarm, or were emails actually resent?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Hello @davz and sorry to hear you are experiencing the affects of the new notification platform.

Apparently you are not the only one suffering from this as I’ve seen many admins raising the same topics for months now.

What I have done and suggest you to do is to raise this to your Docebo CSM and let them know.

Here are some recent community posts about this that I have followed:

I noticed inconsistencies with how notifications were automatically transferred / “copied” to the new set-up.  So I went through all of ours and fixed inaccuracies.  Realizing that might not be an option for a lot of people due to the number of notifications, but after seeing some of the posts I was getting nervous and wanted to head off any issues.  I hope it helps us!

Have found a LOT of oddities in the new notification module. Seems like they also did not launch consistently across all users so no two people are having the same issues. looking forward to the release reediness session this a week and hope to ask about it.

The journey continues….

I am now receiving emails from customers who joined the LMS over a year ago, and they are being sent email notifications generated by Docebo. These emails were about their account creation and setup.

The new notification system is a serious issue. I am extremely dissatisfied with Docebo right now — this situation has caused significant reputational damage to my department and to my company as a whole.

We now have to repair the confusion and frustration this has caused our customers.

Was there something that I could have done prior to the release to prevent this from happening? I’m so down in the dumps… I don’t feel like Docebo did their part in letting us know how to prepare for this.

I’m really curious to hear from Docebo….

I’ve submitted another support ticket, but the damage is already done.

Sorry to hear @davz and I get your frustration.

I have to say this is nothing new when it comes to Docebo releasing new updates which then puts the system admins to do all the mopping as their release did all types of things.

We have given Docebo feedback from this type of behaviour that it grumbles the trust and everytime they mention that new release is going to be enabled, I’m on my toes and blocking time from my calendar to review if something odd have happened in our system.
Definately not how this should be going and handled so what I suggest, put pressure on your CSM and demand that it is escalated higher up as support can do only as much.

We should be added to the new notification engine tomorrow but based on the experience of other, I’m hesitent to halt it until everything is fixed as I have no interest on cleaning their mess in my system.
