How is Docebo planning for the upcoming move to GA4?

As most of GA users know, On July 1, 2023, standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits.

My question to Docebo is- how are you planning to deploy the support of the new GA4 property? what are the planned delivery dates? when this will be available on sandbox and production?

As this was announced long ago, and still have some time ahead, there is no reason for Docebo not to be prepared enough to make sure data collection will not be affected.

Thanks,

Omer

Hi @omer.bitas I understand your concern! GA is an essential tool, and I’m sure you would like assurance that we intend to address the upcoming deprecation.

In the comments of the idea linked above, we explain that our engineering team has looked into this and we tentatively intend to release a new version of our integration at the end of Q4 of this year. We are planning to release more details about this at the end of September,

I am also looking for this answer.

When I asked my CXM several months ago they said something along the lines of “as far as Docebo knows the G4 move does not impact us and they had not heard anything official from Google” I forwarded the messages I had received regarding the move and have not heard anything else since.

You can forward to your CXM this official page from google.

Please keep asking them for it, only our pressure will assure this is not something that will be a “surprise” for Docebo.

This does not need to be an Idea that can be considered or decided upon- Docebo must work on adapting their infrastructure to support this.

Agreed - it needs a solution soon, and the way Docebo works is that upvoting is their measure of what to work on, for better or worse. Upvote it, talk to your CSM, talk to the CSMs manager etc.

For the record when talking about a third party configuration…they “must” not do anything :) everything has to be evaluated and decided upon.

Sounds like you prefer useful features getting removed from the platform…?

No, but I don’t take them for granted or the need for a platform to be constantly evaluated for effort/development/cost vs user needs. As was said earlier, that is the reason for ideas and voting and feedback and having CSM’s. Assuming something is supported on an old framework means it should always be supported forever is just not a great assumption is all. Your statement earlier made it seem like it was absolute, even google (the only company in the world who should support GA universally without question) famously does not behave this way. All perspective to keep in mind is all.

Thanks @elliott.vickrey for addressing our concerns and updating us on this.

It is greatly appreciated to know that Docebo prioritize keeping up with the latest platforms and services out there, and of course not taken as granted.

Will stay tuned for the announcement.

I’m new here - starting from scratch, what’s the best way to implement GA4 vs UA vs whatever else?

Hi Elliott. Is there any news on this? I’m not seeing anything yet on the Docebo Product Updates page.

Hello,

Does “End of Q4” mean “December 31st”?

It’s ok if it does!

@elliott.vickrey  @erin.brisson  @Jihane

Hi Everybody.

The essential update of Docebo platform was scheduled by Docebo to end on Q4-22.

Q1-23 started 4 weeks ago.

No communication around this was provided, and the update was not implemented.

Can we please get some communication about this?

Thanks

Omer
