Multi-language course feature - course certificate not showing the course title in the right language

Commenting to follow this because we are looking to test build our first multi-language course soon and I didn’t even think about the certificates! I need to check the certificate builder, but can multilanguage ones be created?

Hi ​@RWalsh I may be wrong  but pretty sure certificates cannot pick up localized text from your course titles unless you create the different language versions. See this KB article: https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020084280-Creating-and-managing-certificates

If you have done that and also check that the fields you want to show in the certificate have also been localized, you may need to open a support ticket.

I’ve done extensive testing of certificates and multi-lingual course approaches and there were too many challenges, one of them being that certificate shortcodes are always based on the primary language in the platform and the primary language of the course and have no connection to current language preference or course default language, so went with unilingual courses in the end. The Docebo approach to language treats secondary languages as secondary, rather than equivalent. As well, ILT courses could not have bilingual content so bilingualism in the platform needs work.

Hi ​@lrnlab yes it works for us now when we have different language versions of each course. We were looking at multilanguage feature to simplify things, but from what I’m reading is that is expected behavior that with multilanguage feature, certificate will pick up course title in default language?

This would be a good idea to post for later improvements
