Setting Up Best Practices - First Conversations with Departments on Content

Hi all - I am in the early stages with Docebo and have found reading through posts in the community to be helpful during implementation. Our first use case is new hire orientation, which is a mix of recordings and live Teams trainings with multiple departments. We are working to get integrations set up in Docebo Connect.

With launch on the horizon, I have started discussions with stakeholders on future LMS use cases and what content to pull in from departments across the firm. I would love to set clear standards and expectations to ensure this is a clean process.

If you are willing to share how you approach these items:

  • What content quality standards do you set up front (branding, format, objectives, ownership, review cadence)?
  • What sort of content request process do you use?
  • Do you handle most content uploads through your team or do you let individual departments handle their own uploads?
  • Have you found it helpful to designate power users in early conversations with departments?
  • What do you wish you did differently when you first started pulling content into the LMS?

I would love to hear your thoughts and different perspectives. I realize it is a loaded question so feel free to chime in on just an item. If you have many ideas you are willing to share, I’d also welcome a call to listen and chat. Thankful to have this community to learn and grow with.

You are right - this is a super loaded question. I have been on panels with other learning leads doing talks about this at Inspire. It is a big story. And it leans heavily into governance. The easiest way to answer it is to offer insight into what governance means to us.
Ping me via a direct message - will share my portion of a presentation that was done at Inspire just a few years ago.
