Google Cookie Policy Updates: Our Embedded Platform Enhancements for Continued Seamless Service & Security
At Docebo, we continuously strive to enhance our platform and ensure the highest standards of service and security for our customers. We are reaching out to remind you of upcoming updates that are part of our proactive measures to adapt to new industry standards and maintain the integrity and functionality of our embedded services.
Background on Updates
Google Chrome has announced updates to its third-party cookie policy, aimed at increasing privacy and security for users by limiting how cookies can be used across websites. These changes affect many online platforms, including ours, especially when our system is accessed in embedded modes, such as through third-party applications (like Salesforce). If you use Docebo in embedded mode, these updates will ensure a smooth transition.
Our Response
To anticipate and adapt to these changes, we are updating our platform to include a new 'partitioned' attribute for cookies, which supports the use of cross-site cookies in a privacy-preserving manner. Here is what this means for you:
No Expected Impact: We do not anticipate any disruptions to your experience or to the functionality of our services. These updates are being implemented well ahead of Google’s policy enforcement to ensure a smooth transition.
Enhanced Security: These changes will further enhance the security and privacy of your interactions with our platform.
Timeline
We are currently testing these updates and plan to implement them across all sandbox environments by the end of May and in production by the end of June. This proactive approach ensures that there will be no impact on your access or use of our services, Google is planning their phase-out process in the second half of 2024.

Hi All,
Quick update on this topic.
As part of this update the team has been diligently performing extensive end to end tests.
During one of our last special runs they found some issues in the Salesforce integration which caused a last minute delay in our initial release date.
Our team is currently working on this as a priority to ensure it is released prior to the end of Q2.
With this in mind our new ETA for release is our next release window on June 17-19.
This will still give time you time to test in sandbox environments and update in production prior to Googles phase out process starts.
We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated on our progress.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Hi All,
Another update on this topic.
Google has announced that the phase out of the 3rd Party Cookies has been delayed until H1 2025.
As we were working to the original Google Schedule we inform you that all tests inside the Docebo platform have been completed and resolved.
However, with this new timeline, we have decided to postpone the release of our update while we wait to get the latest updates from our 3rd Party Suppliers / Sub-Processors to ensure that the update is 100% complete across the entirety of our Platform.
The new target release date is the end of August for testing in Sandbox.
This updated release date will still allow you to test the update 4 months in advance of the Google Phase Out Timeline.
Our objective is to get this update completed and released into the platform as soon as possible and we will continue working on it as a priority.
We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated on our progress.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Important Update: New Toggle for Partitioned Cookies
Hi All,
We're pleased to announce the successful release our update related to Partitioned Cookies.
As reminder this update is designed to address the upcoming Google 3rd Party Cookie Phase Out expected to start in 2025.
New Toggle Available: You can now request activation of the following toggle in your sandbox platform: TOGGLE/ENABLE-PARTITIONED-COOKIES
The following platform cookies have been updated with the Partitioned attribute: - YII_CSRF_TOKEN - docebo_session - hydra_access_token - SimpleSAMLAuthToken - max_login_attempts_reached_expire_time - failed_login_attempts - SAML_login_counter - SAML_login_disabled - SimpleSAMLSessionID - COOKIE_MOBILE_REQUEST - lti_access_token
Note: The functionality of these cookies remains unchanged; only the Partitioned attribute has been added.
Known Limitation: Please be aware that there is currently a known limitation with this release toggle.
The Docebo Connect Interface will not work due to its reliance on a 3rd party vendor.
However, all recipes and connectors will continue to work.
We are actively working with them to resolve this issue and will ensure it's fixed shortly & before activating this toggle in production environments.
Next Steps: If you'd like to test this in your sandbox environment, please contact our support team to request activation of the toggle.
We will set the release date for Production at a later date to ensure we have ample time to allow you all to test this update in sandbox.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to improve our platform.
We'll keep you updated on any further developments.
Thank you for your continued support.
Hello Community,
We want to provide an update on the ongoing deprecation of third-party cookies in Google Chrome.
Current Situation:
Recent reports suggest that Google has decided not to proceed with the planned phaseout of third-party cookies. This information has been corroborated by changes in their Developer Sandbox documentation. Chrome Developers Privacy Sandbox
Our Response:
Despite Google's apparent shift in plans, we are continuing with our efforts to address the third-party cookies issue. This decision is based on the significant progress we have made and to ensure we are prepared should the situation change direction again.
Progress and Next Steps:
The team identified an additional edge case for third party cookies causing issues with the usage of the SCORM files.
This only happens when a customer is using a signed CDN to store their Scorm files and being used in conjunction with OEM iframes.
We are actively working to solve this edge case. Once development is complete, the fix will be included in the same toggle we previously released, to allow you to continue testing in your sandbox environments.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Hi All,
We wanted to let you know that solved the edge case and that the partitioned cookie toggle is now available for activation in both sandbox and production environments, upon customer request.
The toggle remains the same: TOGGLE/ENABLE-PARTITIONED-COOKIES
This includes the fixes for the edge cases we identified with SCORM files and signed CDNs.
