Hey Docebo Community
We’re excited to announce that we are officially updating our accessibility compliance target to WCAG 2.2 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)!
This update marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusion, enhancing that the learner experience in Docebo learning platform is even more compliant with global accessibility standards.
In this article, we’ll summarize the major improvements introduced in 2024, highlighting the changes made to enhance accessibility compliance. We will also provide a detailed comparison between the new and previous versions, so you can fully appreciate the progress we’ve made.
Why is this upgrade important?
WCAG 2.2 introduces several improvements over version 2.1, aimed at making digital content more accessible for individuals with disabilities. Specifically, it includes nine new success criteria, focusing on:
- Better support for users with cognitive and learning disabilities, simplifying navigation and user interface interaction.
- Enhanced flexibility for users with motor impairments, making it easier to interact with online controls and forms.
- Additional focus visibility requirements, improving the experience for users with visual impairments who navigate using the keyboard.
What does this change for you?
Upgrading to WCAG 2.2 not only strengthens our system’s compliance but also provides a better, more inclusive experience for your users. Accessibility isn’t just a technical requirement but a value that allows your business to reach a wider audience and improve the learning experience.
To provide the clearest overview possible, we have created two separate VPATs:
- Docebo learning Platform - Public areas, login process, and built-in pages ACR (VPAT)
- Docebo learning Platform - Course page and training materials ACR (VPAT)
These VPATs are the outcome of a close collaboration between our product development team and our accessibility partner, UsableNet.
