Hi! My name is Anil Bandi, I’m Product Manager at Docebo and I shipped this feature last release. It’s a pleasure to answer your question, here’s a deeper look at the improved Course Completion Digest.

You can now choose whether the digest notification includes all courses a learner has not completed, or only courses with a due date or a limited enrollment validity period. This makes it easier to focus on courses that need attention.

For the admin-only version, you can also choose between one digest containing all assigned learners or several smaller digests. When using multiple notifications, you can set a maximum of 1 to 25 learners per notification. This setting does not affect the learner-facing digest, where each learner receives one notification containing only their own incomplete courses.

These options are available in the notification’s Extra settings. Existing notifications keep their current behavior unless an administrator changes the settings, so no action is required if you want to keep the current setup.

More details are available in the Digest notifications article. I hope this answered your question, please let me know if there’s specific area’s I can dive deeper on.

Hi @anil.bandi - thank you for the detailed response. I get it better now.

A question for you - I can only imagine that you did the splitting of notifications of up to 25 max this because of a type of notification load (and feel free to push back), but this is clearly now by design.

Has the product team considered doing an attachment of a small excel or csv file of what would appear in the ITEMS component of that email for those larger scenarios.

Because (here is the thing) - managers at my org? One of the most common complaints? They don’t want to hear the noise. For broad supervisors. 4 notifications can be alot of noise. The push back will be > can I just get that in a spreadsheet/report.

And I could tell them to go into My Team and use insights, but that is not fixing that concern. That is pivoting them to an OK solution versus delivering an ideal.

Yes, your understanding is correct. The splitting option was designed to make large admin digests, such as “Learner has yet to complete a course,” more manageable, improve readability and deliverability, and give administrators greater control over notification volume. The 1–25 limit applies to non-learner recipients, including Superadmins, Power Users, Managers, and Instructors.

An Excel or CSV attachment is a great suggestion. Thank you for explaining how this could help the different user roles in your organization. I’ll share this feedback with our product teams for consideration as a potential future enhancement.

Thank you @anil.bandi - you made my day. You all pull this off? And I am telling you - this is an easy game changer from my lens on the subject.
