More than 10 items in companion spaces?

This may be a very basic-level question, but is there any thought about expanding the number of assets/courses that can be linked to a specific space? Or perhaps allowing for some kind of visibility feature?

I understand the UX side and how more than 10 courses could easily create more noise and clutter, so I applaud the intentionality here. However, I am working through a pilot program using the tool and have run into something that may stop us from scaling it.

We have multiple teams that make use of some of our targeted URLs, let’s call it “tools.com.” Each team has a specific usage and process within tools.com that tailor to their very complex needs. Each team has their own instructions, documentation, SOPs, and training related to tools.com. These are not duplications of the same training, they are tailored to the specific needs of the teams. So right now, I can create a space for tools.com and attach 10 assets to it. However, Team A has 8 relevant assets, Team B has 6 relevant assets, and Team C has 9 relevant assets: 23 assets in total. Visibility can be arranged with catalogs and channels (this part is working great so people only see what they have access to), however I still have the limit on the admin side of 10 items.

Right now, my pilot for Team A is going great. But I am looking ahead to the next stage with Team B and Team C and I am not quite sure how to tackle this and scale it for them.

Perhaps someone else has another strategy for how to tackle this?

I realize after I typed this that Learning Plans might be part of the solution, but I’m curious if others have similar needs/uses/experiences. Learning Plans are ok, but it is also another click and drill-down for the end user to get to what they need.

That was my first thought, a learning plan for each team.

On a different note, that @ChrisBurton might find useful, is our webinars are now more hybrid. With training materials, and observation checklists used to allow the learner to work through at their own pace, and the ILT/webinar is a time to meet and discuss. All delivered from a learning plan.

Hi @ChrisBurton,

Thanks for your patience in waiting for a response on this as i’ve been on vacation.

I totally understand that and we have something in the roadmap that should answer this need for you.

You’ll be able to assign content blocks & visibility rules to spaces.

So we keep the maximum limit to 10 items to be shown in a Space, but you will be able to assign different content to different user groups / branches, which should solve for the issue you’re facing.

We believe this is a best solution to peep the philosophy of maximizing the relevance the content shown and reduce cognitive load with just 10 items but giving you the flexibiltiy to meet your users needs.

This feature is currently active in our roadmap and is under engineering review and should start development shortly.

I dont have an acturate release date until the engineering review is complete but it will be at the latest the Fall GA, 2026, Which releases on October 28th / November 2nd i believe, depending on your platform instance type.

Let me know if this answers your need and below are some screenshots from our designs for this.

if you have any feedback or comments let me know.

Thank you @Kristian Luke Jones,

The blocks are definitely what I am looking for. I totally understand the philosophy of a 10 item maximum, but for varied audiences on the same site it can become restrictive. Am I correct in understanding that we would be able to assign 10 items for each block? Or would it still be restricted to 10 total?

Correct, you will be able to assign 10 items per block. and there will be a maximum of 5 blocks per space.
