AI Assistant Results Changes

Hi, In the latest release AI Assistant (was Harmony) has changed the way it displays results. Going from providing a text answer with the sources referenced at the end of the answer, to a new style where the references are displayed as numbered links.

We can find no material on this change. We raised a case with Docebo who also said they cannot find any documentation on this change.

Has anyone else seen this change/ do you know if it is a setting that can be reversed? The courses referenced at the end was a much better solution for our learners.

I have seen this change as well, are these reference materials opening for you from the search results?

@Chloe MHR thanks for raising this topic, and first of all apologies that this was not communicated clearly and considered in the documentation. I will make sure we update knowledge base articles accordingly.

To explain what changed regarding the citations in answers and why: Instead of listing all sources at the end, the AI assistant now provides more precise citations and references exactly which source was used for each part of an answer. This provides more transparency on what the answer is based on and allows easier verification.

Please let me know if this makes sense, or why you see the previous list at the end as a better solution for your learners.

@jan-hendrik.meins Thank you for responding quickly and for the explanation. For us presenting the courses at the end was a better option as we prefer our users to still visit the learning content and check the materials directly. The citations sometimes reference 4 places a line of content was retrived from which can be confusing. My preference would be to have the citations and presenting the course links at the end.  We have also noticed a large increase in the wrong material being cited, the number citations are directing people to source material that does not include the information provided in the AI assistant answer, which is again leading to more confusion for our learners.

@prita.bhattacharya  sometimes, but more often they are citing the wrong source material which is leading to confusion amongst our learners.

I also like the new citing interface, especially since the number is clickable and can be opened separately. What I would have liked is also to show the course name, not only the training material name. For example we have standard naming of the materials like “Student material” for all ILT courses, so they all look the same.

Interesting, we need to dig deeper to see if the citations are accurate in our case. In our case if we select a specific material and ask questions, the citation is not clickable.
