We are pleased to announce that multilingual support for courses is just around the corner and will be available with the October release! With this update, courses can now be managed and delivered in multiple languages through dedicated folders — meaning learners only see training materials in their chosen language, while administrators manage everything in one place.

This first step delivers on the most important need we heard from you: no more course duplication to support different languages. Learners enjoy a seamless experience, and admins gain efficiency and consistency.

Alongside this, we’ve also enriched reporting with:

  • New data point to identify in which languages a course is delivered.

  • New data point to track the associated language for each learner, showing the language they selected when taking or completing the course.

On the learner side, progression is now calculated correctly on the training materials of their chosen language. On the admin reporting side, for the initial release, progression will still reflect all training materials in the course. This may cause a mismatch with completion data, but it does not affect the learner experience. We’re already working to align reporting in a future update.

👉 This release is the foundation of a broader journey: our next priority is to enhance reporting. While we don’t yet have definitive plans for other multilingual capabilities (such as metadata translation), we are actively collecting your feedback and will continue to share updates and previews here in the PDG.

This is great - but when can we expect the localization tool/globe icon to be added for course titles and course descriptions? That is what will truly make the course multilingual.

Localization is another very important part. Not sure we’ll be using this option until we see localization for titles, descriptions, short titles, etc. I would have almost preferred that Docebo started with that before the content (since we already have a decent workaround for content in multiple languages using the end object markers - not great but it worked in simple cases).

Right - because if their language is set to Italian they can’t read the only title if it’s in English. That’s where we are now - hoping soon!

Agree with the above comments. This new features sound good, but we can already use folders, equivalencies etc to put training materials of different languages in the same course. The missing piece is the ability to show the titles, course descriptions etc. in the users preferred language. This would be a huge improvement for us when/if it happens.

That’s great news but I agree, without multi-language title, description and course additional fileds, this will hardly be useful for us.

Localization is important as others have mentioned and I agree with them., without the option for a translated title, it doesn't work for everyone, because the user wouldn't know what the title was.

The multi-language feature is really important, but so is the localization of course titles and descriptions. I hope this will be included in one of the upcoming releases.

I can only agree, we would need the titles and descriptions to be translated as well. is there a timeilne or anything announced for this feature?

We just realized the learners see the language according to the language they chose in their profile when they were inscribed to the course. If they are inscribed and change their langauge preferences afterwards, they still only see the training material in the language they had when they were inscribed. Is this upposed to be like that? We ofter set up new users with English and inscribe them to a course. They might change their preferences once they log in but still they cannot see the training material in their prefered language.
