We want to issue a certificate to users the first time they take the course and not allow them to access the content without reissuing a new completion date on their certificate.

  1. Would the best solution having a training test material and have that as the end object marker so that the course completion date is set to that date?  Or would accessing the additional training material affect the completion date?

I’m currently testing this theory, but I’m wondering if anyone has already set something up like this.

I do want learners to be able to access course content after they’ve completed and passed the course.

I do not want them to be issued a new completion date.

Typically once a certificate is awarded upon completion of the course, it not updated if the user takes the same course again. Even in some cases where the training material is reset, the course completion date remains the same. If you archive the enrolment, that will allow the user to obtain a new, updated certificate.
