Hello everyone.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if you have tested the Archive Tab released in the last few months.

I have some concerns about it, particularly regarding the specifications—especially the last one highlighted in red below. It indicates that archiving a course will permanently remove all certification records. Based on this, we may not use this functionality, as it could lead to potential data loss.

Could you please share your feedback on this? I believe this is a good feature, but we want to ensure that no data is lost. According to the Knowledge Base, only course progress and certificates are maintained. Therefore, I am wondering if Docebo is planning to preserve certification data as well. If so, this Archive Tab could provide significant benefits for improving the content lifecycle and searchability.

I think this section in the knowledge base is misleading.

Course archiving provides a structured approach to remove outdated or inactive courses from learner-facing pages while preserving all associated course data (including e-commerce transactions), enrollments, and completion records, unless certifications are not considered as course data.

  • The course cannot be restored as an active course.
  • All active enrollments are archived in their current status.
  • Learners can no longer access the course. However, they can still view their progress data and certificates from the My activities page.
  • The course appears in the Archived tab of the Courses page.
  • For Instructor-Led Training (ILT) courses, all past, present, and future sessions and events are canceled when the course is archived.
  • For paid courses, the transactions associated with course purchases are retained.
  • Archiving a course permanently removes all certification records associated with that course.

If you can share comments related to this new functionality, I would like to hear your feedback, as we may continue using the old process we have in place to archive our content, I think many of you use it, adding archived words, setting the course under maintence and moving it to an Archive Catalog, in parallel with the archive enrollments from the course.

Thank you!
