Hi all! We are using extended enterprise. We are careful to use relative links on our pages, so links always go to the correct domain; however, on occasion, we miss one. The result is that the user on a sub-domain gets brought down to the root domain. What are the risks associated with this?

Here’s the list I have so far:

  • Users see incorrect branding or custom css.
  • Users seeing/sharing incorrect URLs with peers would take them to the wrong login screen.

Is there anything else I need to think of?

odd...when our users are sent a link to a domain they are not part, they are redirected with a warning message that also provides them a link to enter the proper domain. Is that not the case for you? Anyone can access the root but the risk is that your root menus may not be the same as your sub domain menus, etc.
