Can anyone share or point to a better explanation of what Spaces do in Companion?  The documentation is good on how to set them up, but not really what they’re for.  I’ve set-up some trial spaces and when I’m on the assigned URLs I don’t see different responses based on the assigned resources, so i feel like I’m just missing someting basic somewhere.

Hi @mzirnhelt - I ran across this, sharing in case you haven’t seen it. I agree the supplied info wasn’t very helpful.

I’m hoping to get to some testing, but currently the extension is blocked for me.

HI there, although users can enable and load the extension themselves, without defining spaces, they only have access to browse available content and/or access Harmony (gif enabled). The spaces allow you tie specific learning content to a page/site where the learning bites can support a tasks, function, etc being performed on that page/site. Think of it as instant access to relevant training opps specific to the page/site they are on at that moment.

Hm, In that case, it’s just not working for me. None of the test spaces I’ve configured show anything different in the Companion window than non-spaces.  I’ll re-check my set-up.

The training tied to your space appears when you are on the page you connected it to. You should not be in the LMS. Make sure you add the LMS site URL and login to in order to be connected when you are the external website. After that, you should be able to browse and launch the content you associated to that space/website.

I tested with some content related to our HRIS, but even after trying a couple of different wildcard set-ups in the URL I don’t get any of the identified resources to show in the Companion window, just the standard dialog options.

@mzirnhelt  Did you add content to your space? and is that content really available to the user you are testing with?

@lrnlab Yep, there’s two courses and both are in catalogs that the test user has access to and can see if they navigate to them through Course Catalog.

My current URL is set-up like https://WEBSITE/* so I feel like with the wildcard at the end it should be the most flexible option regardless of where I’m at in the platform.

try moving the asterisk just after your “.com” and not after the slash. Does it work without the wildcard? Have you tried that?
