We want our managers to add comments when they review observation checklists. We have put in clear instructions and still many skip through this and leave it blank. Is there a way to force this?

OK I understand. I don't think you can. I wonder if the new option to have more than 1 observer could help you with that but cannot be sure without testing since you would need the manager to be an observer (for the comments) and an approver. Might be worth a test?
+10As far as I know, if you create a short answer question, they will need to answer it however if you only add the “notes” fields to each question, that is optional.
Sorry, I should clarify that I don’t mean on the checklist itself, I mean when the manager approval is required and they either accept or reject it (thumbs up or down), a comment box comes up for comments. I want it to be mandatory that they leave comments when accepting or rejecting checklists.

Do you have a link to a knowledge base article or information about how to use this new option? I can’t seem to see anything about it in the recent release information.
