Hi - recently I have been asked if there is a method for an instructor or admin to do an upload of a file. The goal is that when it is later viewed? The session will have the a copy of the one file.

The best and most translatable example is a sign in sheet for a session to be uploaded to the ILT session learning object.

NOTE: Before you all comment, I know that the content of said file will not be searchable. And there is a good chance that even by file naming convention, we will not be able to see if a learning object has a file stored in it.

All that said I am curious of where this conversation will go.

I don’t have an answer, but I do have questions. Do you want the file to be unique to the session level, not the course?

Who do you want to be able to see the file? Learners, Instructors, Admins? Do you need it to be visible only to people enrolled in that session?

Associating training material doesn’t fit the bill?

Unique to the course is fine

Admins

I guess it can? But I am not too sure what it appropriate? An assignment????

I think an assignment object might be the only object that allows you to mark a course complete with a file upload. Re-reading your post, I am wondering if I misunderstood what you mean by ‘closing’ an ILT session.
