My team is looking at implementing a payment gateway. Our organization already uses PayPal, so that is the gateway we’re looking at. From testing in the sandbox, PayPal seems to require that the user has or creates a PayPal account. This will be a barrier for our customer base that we’d like to avoid. Is anyone using the PayPal eCommerce add-in without requiring customers to have a PayPal account?

@GreerHamilton l’m sorry you didn’t receive an answer to this question. Just curious, did you find the answer?

hi @erin.brisson thanks for following up! I did quite a bit of testing in the sandbox environment of Docebo and PayPal. I was able to have a guest checkout, although PayPal’s configuration made it a little difficult. I have yet to implement this in our production environment where I’m guessing the mechanism will be different because our PayPal production environment will be rather different than the test sandbox I was using.

The tl;dr - yes it is possible in at least one environment, although it is not the easiest user experience.

Hi @GreerHamilton, would you mind sharing the steps you followed to enable guest checkout with PayPal? We're currently setting it up as our payment gateway and have run into the same challenge.

Thanks

hi @Diego Jimenez - this is still something that we are working on in and is in progress. At this point, I have only connected our Docebo sandbox to a PayPal sandbox. i was able to go through the checkout process without requiring login. I am working with our finance team to establish a connection between our Docebo sandbox and our live PayPal account, but have yet to do so. I’ll circle back to this post once I’ve got more details about how we’ve configured it. Sorry I don’t have a more helpful response!
