Hi,

If a user has previously completed a course and is later enrolled into a Learning Path (LP) that includes that same course:

  1. Will the course be automatically marked as completed within the LP, and which date remains for course completion; historic or enrolled?
  2. Will course-level notifications still be triggered—specifically the one that alerts the user's Direct Manager to approve the course enrolment (which is a required step in our organisation due to rostering and pay)?

Hello. My understanding is that the course will be marked complete as of the complete date of the course. And then, when the user is enrolled in an LP that contains that course, that course will still show the same dates (original enrollment and completion).  That being the case, the notification will not be triggered. Hope that helps.

Agree with @JeanetteMcVeigh that is my understanding as well.

Thanks @lrnlab and @JeanetteMcVeigh, this is both good news and bad.

So, a notification that goes to a user's direct manager stating they have been enrolled in a course and are waiting for their approval won’t trigger for that course if the course is contained within a LP?

Not based on that alone. Now if they enrolled in the course outside of the LP, then yes.
