Course shells

first let me apologize if this is a silly or I should have known question.

What is a Course Shell?  We are in the process of migrating from our own Docebo platform to a shared Docebo platform with another department.  The material I was given to prep for the migration includes course shells.  I am unsure what this is referring to, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Gail

Before you can migrate content into your courses, you need to create the “shells”. These are courses that have a title, code, etc (all the mandatory fields).

Are you using migration services? If yes, the course shells will Riley be created from a spreadsheet you fill in. Once those are created, a second process (also done on a spreadsheet) will then assign the learning objects to the course shells that were created.

Does that help?

yes

the “shell” is created with basic information (title, code, description) and once those are created the details, such as training material will be placed into the shell of the course.

If you can, it’s best to add as much info into the course shell creation template so you have less to adjust after the courses are created.
