Hello all,

If there is a course that has a quiz at the end and the course is set up to only give 2 attempts at the quiz, what happens when someone fails the quiz twice?  The status will remain In Progress?  With this being the case, reminder emails and past due emails are still going to fire despite the fact that they can’t complete the training.

How have you handled this?

Some of the result here depends on how you’ve configured the course shell, and the SCORM file (assuming you are using SCORM).

The course shell will remain ‘In progress’ because the training material(s) are not successfully completed. If you have configured two training materials (content + quiz), then the content will be complete, but the quiz will be in progress.

I’m not sure how the notifications would be impacted, but what you state sounds reasonable.

The way that we handle this depends somewhat on the course. Sometimes the quiz is a mandatory pass, so we have to reset that training material and have the learner try again. Resetting is found Course Managements > the course > Reports tab > User Statistics > name of the learner > click Reset.

 

If the course isn’t that important, we’ll just change the enrollment status to Completed.
