Is there an easy way to run a report to count annual unique users? I ran a few workaround reports, which still require some computation to get the correct answer.

I’d do it like this:
New Reports → Create a New Custom Report → User Report - Users
Filters:
All Users
Uncheck - hide deactivated users (so they will be included)
Uncheck - hide expired users (so they will be included)
View Options
check: User Last Access Date
Save and download the report.
Use a filter in Excel to count all records where the Last Access Date is in 2023.
+10What do you mean by ‘annual unique users’? Do some of your users have more than 1 account?
