I swore that this was an option when we were implementing Docebo last year, but now that we want to turn off commenting I can’t find it, and I’ve only come across community posts/articles that indicate it is not possible.

Was this an option before? Is it an option now and I’m just not finding it?

We want to disable commenting and asking the expert globally across the platform instead of on individual assets after they are uploaded.

I came across this today and I though the same as you but found there is no “global” option; only asset by asset 😒

I wonder if you can use CSS to hide those options? That said, it’s not the only place for users to access “Ask the Expert. You can disable “Share” and “Ask the Expert” when you create your pages though.

So I have a follow up question to this, we manually disable asking questions on each Channel asset we post (sigh) but it turns out the option is still available on the Go.Learn version of the asset! Does anyone know how to disable it on BOTH desktop and mobile??

that is huge and could change our whole strategy if that isn’t avoidable. thanks for calling this out.

Yeah my director just noticed that today and we’re like what really??? I haven’t been able to find any information in the knowledgebase about how to turn it off for mobile postings.

This entire thread is just another example of how bulk modifications to assets should be a capability. Whether it's thumbnail changes, commenting/Q&A functions or even downloading, we should be able to execute a bulk action. It would truly help support the administrative side of DCS.

Came across this issue in the past week, was hoping to find a global setting to default to disabled.  We are just implementing Discover, Coach, & Share for items that were previously shared outside of Docebo and we want to make it as easy as possible for our Experts.  However it seems we have to give them the extra step of “after you upload, go back and edit, and disable this section”.  Worries me that they will either forget, or get frustrated at the extra step (this was pitched as being easier than their current process).

I found this idea if anyone would like to upvote it:
