Email Short Code Error

We are setting up our email notification and using these short codes: [renew_link] and [course_code]. However, in New Outlook, links aren’t clickable, but everything works good in Outlook Classic.

We don’t want to add a note in the email saying, “Please copy and paste the links in a new browser...” and using the Outlook Classic is not encouraged in our organisation since we are transitioning to the new version.

Please help us resolve this error. Thanks in advance!

hi @KRobillos23, the shortcodes insert only the plain text of the link URL into the email message. Most email clients (but not all, as you have found) will automatically convert these URLs into clickable links.

But to make sure the links are clickable on all email clients you can enclose the shortcode in an html tag like this:

<a href="[course_link]">My Course</a>

see instructions in the kb article:

@anna .nardella There was a miracle happened, and links are working now even in New Outlook even though we did nothing.

Thank you so much for your reply. The link you’ve sent is so helpful and I’ll explore that side of using shortcodes :)
