Hello everyone. We have an ILT course that is broken down into three separate eLearning courses. Any ideas on how to make these equivalent so that if a user takes the ILT they are marked complete in all three eLearning courses - but they have to take all three of the eLearning courses in order to be marked complete for the ILT course? I didn’t see any equivalency options for a learning plan. To me, that would be the obvious easy solution. Am I left with just having the ILT being the Source course and each of the three eLearning courses being Target courses? If the learning plan that contains the three eLearning courses requires all three to be completed for credit is visible in the catalog, but not the individual courses, would that work? I’m mostly thinking out loud to see if I’m on the right track.
Equivalencies - ILT course and separate eLearning courses
+10Not sure I follow your use case...are you saying that you have a leaning plan that includes 3 online courses and an ILT and you want to create an equivalency so that within the LP the user can either attend the ILT course and get credit for the 3 online courses? If yes, have you set-up an equivalency where the ILT course is the “source" that grants credit the three online courses (target)?
LP’s cannot be assigned as sources or targets for equivalency. That is my issue. What I have done is:
- Created an LP with the 3 eLearning courses which requires all 3 to be completed before credit is awarded.
- Set the equivalency with the ILT course as the Source and each of the 3 individual eLearning courses as Targets.
I haven’t successfully been able to determine if this allows a User to take either the LP or the ILT course and the platform would mark the other as completed.
+10Yes that’s what I was thinking could work as well...If you want them to be able to do either the LP or the ILT, you would need to set your equivalency as ‘bi-directional’ so that users who complete the ILT would get credit for completing those 3 courses. I have never done this so please make sure you test thoroughly.
