Hello!

Wondering if anyone uses the system to track external Certificates.

We have warehouse drivers that have DOT Certificates and were thinking about using the system to track expiration dates. My initial thought was doing it through the certificate app however it would not be tied to a course.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I would create an ILT shell and place a certification in it that is supported by an observation checklist that would request the user to state they completed the training course you are referencing. You can then place an expiration date based on their course completion or enrollment.

Another option is still creating the ILT shell, but adding an assignment and requesting the users to upload their certificate from the course (if they receive one).

I’m interested to hear is others have a different approach but this is what we have been utilizing.

Thank you! That is very helpful. I do have a question, why specifically an ILT? Would it not work with a regular course shell?

If it is a live training that they complete, I just like it to be reflected that way. Additionally, you can add sessions in an ILT so the dates are accurate for the users completing the sessions even if it is external to the platform.

If your users are executing this and you don’t have sessions, you could also do a fluid e-learning. I just prefer the ILT for our organizations needs and tracking purposes.
