How can a completed Excel file be uploaded for each employee using Docebo Learn?

We have a Technical Skills Assessment (TSA) that our managers complete for each employee. The TSA is currently an Excel file because different parts of the organization are required to complete different components. Some required areas are determined by each manager. I don’t want to disrupt the existing Excel file process at this time.

We have been asked if it is possible for managers to load each employee’s completed TSA file into Docebo so that an employee’s management team can access the Excel file. This access would carry through if an employee moves to another location.

We investigated numerous possible options but did not locate something that met all our needs. For example, we looked at the super admins loading the file as a certificate for an external training we add. We found this wouldn’t work because employees can access the certificate file and replace it.

We considered observation checklists. We didn’t see an option within this to upload a file like the completed Excel file. In general, we struggle with observation checklists because only one person can be set as the observer, and we need both the employee’s manager and assistant manager to act as observers being able to mark tasks completed. There are other components of observation checklists that have created some stumbling blocks for us, so we didn’t view this as a possible solution.

Are there any other possibilities for uploading an Excel file for each employee that management teams can access with the employee not being able to edit the file?

Using the "Assignment" feature could be a viable solution for uploading the files. You can designate the managers as instructors to evaluate the assignments.

Hi @kjanderson the option mentioned by @Chelsy Koshy works very well for the user to submit a completed document and you can allow the user to upload multiple files if needed...that said, it sounds like you want some thing that is tracked to the user’s profile (maybe I'm wrong here).

If that is the case, you can try creating a user additional field with the type “ File field“. This field can be made visible to users who can download what’s there and the admin can upload new and updated documents to the user’s profile…

Perhaps a combination of these 2 approaches could work for you?
