My organization has mostly used the LMS for our professional population, who have company emails.  We will be starting to have more of our plant associates consume training, but they do not have company emails and I can’t have notifications fire to personal emails.  I am mainly concerned with the course completion notification that has ‘all courses’ as its filter.

The only workaround I can come up with is to create a global group that filters out users with personal emails and adding that as the user filter.

I am also working with my integration team to see what options may exist to filter out personal emails from the HR feed, but not sure how that will pan out.

Would love to hear some thoughts!

Hi @Jtischler ,

Your instinct is spot on! Using an automatic group to filter the notification is exactly the right approach here. It will solve your problem immediately and save you from having to build a complex, custom HR integration.

You can handle this entirely natively:

  1. Create an Automatic Group that automatically captures your professional population by setting a condition based on the user's email address (e.g., Email contains @yourcompany.com).

  2. Go to Advanced Settings > Notifications and edit your course completion notification.

  3. Navigate to the Triggers and filters tab.

  4. Under the Users section (Groups tab), select your newly created Automatic Group.

This ensures the notification only fires for users who fall into the corporate group, effectively silencing it for your plant associates who use personal emails.

When I've deployed Docebo for organizations with a similar mix of corporate and frontline/plant staff, relying on an "All Corporate Users" automatic group based on email domains has proven to be the most resilient pattern. It's incredibly low-maintenance and removes the dependency on perfect HR feed syncs just to manage notifications.

You can check out the exact details on how to apply these group filters in the Configuring Notifications Help Article.

Hope this helps keep your plant associates' inboxes clear!
