How Can I: Non-Purchasable Learning Plan

We’re building out learning plans in our LMS and want to make upcoming training visible without allowing enrollment or purchase yet.

The goal is to:

  • Show users that training for a specific product will be available

  • Clearly communicate that the content is coming soon / not yet open

  • Prevent enrollment, checkout, or access until we’re ready to launch

  • Encourage users to check back later (or optionally join a waitlist)

Ideally, the learning plan would appear in the catalog with a status like:

  • “Coming Soon”

  • “Available Q2 2026”

  • “Training in Development”

without being purchasable or enrollable.

For those who’ve implemented this successfully:

  • How did you structure it in your LMS?

  • Did you use visibility rules, custom labels, prerequisites, or catalog permissions?

Looking for practical approaches that balance marketing visibility with access control.

Thanks in advance.

If you dont need to show the contents, you might just create course shells (you can re-use when you build the LP) to show the title and description (you can also add some demo materials like a syllabus) and just make it visible to users but block enrolments (you can do this at the course level)
