@MichelleW What statistics are you looking for? You can see course progress in New Reports>Custom Reports, including some training material reporting. There is better reporting on training materials in a specific course in the ‘reports’ tab in Course Managment. 

depends what level of detail you need...you have stats on the Reporting tab of course under Course Management, or you can run any of the course reports...Some provide details on the course status and other like the Training Material report will give you deeper data on the course objects and their progress as well the time spent by the users.
