How do we teach Harmony Search?

Hi all,

I’m excited with the potential that Harmony Search can offer, but I’m with many of you in that the tool isn’t ready for primetime as it is not picking up the information and proper user guides that i want it to use to respond. How can I “teach” Harmony or guide it on locating the correct information? 

Any tips, tricks, and guidance are greatly appreciated.

I turned on the preview mode a while ago and it wasn't working well at first but seems to have improved. Perhaps that’s enough to get it “learning” and once you are satisfied with the results displayed, you can then turn it ON for the entire site. Might be worth a try.

I’ve turned mine on in preview mode since they delivered the product and I go back in regularly in hopes it’ll pick up what I need it to. Not there yet. I just wish there was a way to guide it.

have you tried to perform some random searches and actually open the Harmony AI agent; not just a simple search. You can ask it questions. Perhaps that can help.

Didn't see anything about how much time it takes apart from a note about when it first launched. 

Have you tagged your content? Maybe look over those tags to see if they match your search keywords. That should help to get you better results as well.

Thanks. My biggest concern is that the attachments it’s picking for user guides and job aids. They’re incorrect. I’ve tagged that content to make sure it has something to connect to but it’s still picking the wrong docs. 

Thank you for the ideas though. I’ll keep working at it.

I’ve been experiencing the same issue with linking to incorrect content. It seems to only want to attach the same 2 videos for everything. Did yours eventually pull the correct documents ​@kljenkins0502 or are all you still having this issue?

@lwoodman I’m still having the same issue...but as I’m playing with it more, I’m finding that if I scrub the documents available in the Central Repository, and all the tags/keywords, I’m getting closer. It’s still about 50% accurate and so now I’m trying to figure out why it thinks it needs to choose a specific doc that has nothing to do with the topic itself.

Our biggest issue with Harmony is that it only searches content that the learner is enrolled in. We wish the Harmony search was more robust and searched all content, rather then just what the learner is enrolled in. We aren’t sure at this point if we will even turn it on for our learners because of how it performs searches.

@SLozano I didn’t think it was just searching the content the learner is enrolled in. I thought it was anything in the database (Central Repository?)..?

The Harmony search is a tremendous improvement. 

  1. What I need is the ability to search for info from within our courses which are primarily SCORM.  (other than info on the web, it is mostly using any documents we have).  It is pulling up info from some of my videos.  Not sure if it is only doing this on ones that have subtitles.  
  2. Also, if a user asks “where is a particular course located”  I need it to retrieve the link or location to the course.
  3.  I agree in that if we can teach Harmony this info it would be useful

Hi There, 

I’m curious if your Harmony preview is still working? We had ours turned on in Sandbox, as well as production, took some demo videos of it working as expected, but something’s changed within the past few weeks where we get a “Something is Wrong” and to try again later error. We’ve got a support ticket open, but they can’t seem to find any issues on their end, and our IT dept. says they’re not blocking anything on our end… Just curious others current experiences.
