How does Docebo know which time zone a user is in when users are not allowed to set their own time zone

Hello, I see that Docebo sets a time zone for users so I’m wondering how it derives that. We do not allow users to edit their time zone in their profile.

I found this quote in a KB article. Can I deduce from it that Docebo is looking at the user’s browser for this info?

“If users are allowed to customize their time zone, when they move to a location having a different time zone, the platform will prompt them to adjust their time zone according to the one detected by the browser.”

As it turned out, ours was being set by the new user API we were setting. So, if anyone is ever trying to figure out how a time zone was set, consider whether your API might be at play.

It’s likely based on the IP address.
